THE Danish royals have added paper made from kangaroo dung to a swag of souvenirs from their visit to Crown Princess Mary's homeland.
Liberal Member for Braddon, Brett Whiteley, today presented the princess with a roo poo paper travel journal.
The gift was made by Creative Paper in Burnie, which made a statewide call out for kangaroo dung following its decision to mass produce the paper earlier this year.
The journal follows the presentation of a 160kg bale of superfine wool as the state's gift to the former Tasmanian and her husband, Crown Prince Frederik.
The prince was left suitably baffled by the wool, telling 1200 guests at a state reception earlier this week he would "cut five holes in the bale for when I'm cold".
"Mary will sort of go into it when she feels a bit homesick," he said.
Mr Whiteley said today Princess Mary was very interested in the roo poo paper.
"Hopefully she might help spread the word about this fantastic product made in Burnie, in her first home state of Tasmania, when she returns to Denmark," he said.
