Having fun ... Anna Nicole, Sharon Osbourne, Carmen Electra and Kelly Osbourne / Adam Ward
MTV madness kicked into high gear yesterday in the lead-up to tonight's MTV Australia Video Music Awards.
As stars went to and from rehearsals at Luna Park, a city hotel provided fans with a feast of celebrities, including Green Day and Keith Urban.
The Osbourne family, Anna-Nicole Smith, Carmen Electra (all pictured right) and rockers talked up the Awards, which begin with a red carpet roll-up at 5pm, at a press conference at the Four Seasons Hotel in The Rocks.
Despite his drug-addled reputation, co-host Ozzy Osbourne gave the distinct impression he may have hammed up that facet of his personality for his family's TV show.
And he'd been well informed on Aussie traditions - when he entered the press conference and was greeted with cries of "Ozzy! Ozzy! Ozzy!", he chanted back: "Oi! Oi! Oi!"
When asked what advice he'd give to parents in light of his experiences with his own kids, he quipped: "Buy a belt."
Daughter Kelly revealed that Kath and Kim is her favourite show and gave the media a Kath impersonation.
As expected, Anna-Nicole Smith, another awards host, behaved strangely. Not that we expected much from a woman who almost didn't make her flight here because she attempted to board the plane with her pet dog.
"They wouldn't let me bring my doggy and I'm very attached to my doggy, he's like my baby," she said.
When asked whether she knew anything about Australian music, she responded with, "To be honest, I'm not Australian [but] I did come here to learn."
Ah, thanks for the tip, Anna-Nicole.

AN uninvited guest made for an unusual start to the press conference: a woman named Bea, apparently a model and wrestler, paraded for photographers while lifting up her T-shirt before shamelessly handing out business cards.
"That's just me networking," she said.
