Out and about ... Anna Nicole Smith at the NW Oscars party on Monday.
AS if Royal Fever hasn't been bad enough this week, brace yourself for Celebrity Madness.
Some of the most popular names in showbiz - including the Osbourne family, Cher, Neil Diamond and even 70s comedy trio The Goodies - have descended on Australia this week, sending the domestic paparazzi and gossip columns into a spin trying to cover their press conferences, public appearances and shopping sprees.
It began on Monday with the arrivals of former Baywatch babe Carmen Electra, in town to promote her Fit to Strip DVDs about how to get in shape by striptease, and Anna Nicole Smith, the buxom blonde ex-millionaire who wowed a gossip magazine's Oscars lunch with her bizarre behaviour.
Yesterday, Delta Goodrem arrived home for a raft of public appearances, her Irish pop star boyfriend Brian McFadden flew to Melbourne to promote his new album, and the Osbourne family - Ozzy, Sharon, Kelly and Jack - lobbed in to host the inaugural MTV Australia awards in Sydney tomorrow.
After arriving in the Harbour City late morning, the wild children of Black Sabbath singer Ozzy went into awards rehearsals, then did what most showbiz offspring do: they made a General Pants store close for a little over an hour so they could raid the shelves for jeans, sneakers and T-shirts.
While some of the visiting celebrities are here on individual tours - such as Cher, Neil Diamond and Bryan Adams - the MTV Australia awards can be held accountable for the influx of the rest of the celebrity pack.
Electra, Smith and the Osbournes all have (or have had) their own shows on the pay-TV network, and you can spot the cameras following them around Sydney.

The awards, which will also feature Adams, Australian songstresses Dannii Minogue and Natalie Imbruglia, world champion surfer Kelly Slater and American punk rockers Green Day, will also cause a stir with the first public appearance in Australia of Goodrem and McFadden after their romance caused a storm in Britain.
On the film front, US actor Nicolas Cage has been in Melbourne for the past fortnight making Ghost Rider, but kept a relatively low profile, while US stars Kate Bosworth and Kevin Spacey are set to arrive in Sydney any day to make Superman Returns.
When not "working", the visiting celebs will do their best to see the sights of Sydney: Jack Osbourne plans to do the Harbour Bridge climb and get a surfing lesson from Slater before the week is out, while his mum Sharon wants to shop on Oxford Street today.
One hot rumour is that Cher, in town for her Las Vegas-style farewell tour, might make a surprise appearance at Sydney's Mardi Gras parade this Saturday.
In celebrity-land anything is believable, but don't hold your breath.
